SEMTO ST-NF2 7cc SOHC Inline 2-Cylinder 4-Stroke Air-Cooled Nitro Engine Model Kit - High-Performance FS-L200AC

I enjoyed assembling the kit everything was to hand. Unfortunately on my example the threads in the main block were poorly formed and the set screws ‘bound up’ before they were fully home. I had to use washers under the heads to ensure everything was correctly tightened. I could have cut the bolts shorter but that would have been more time consuming.
The assembled engine was quite tight to turn by hand and after extensive lubrication I ran it in useing a battery drill for 15 minutes.

I’ve been obsessed with engines my entire life and this is the very first mini one I’ve worked on. However it is not for beginners.

I have encountered a few quality issues with a few parts and this can make it a bit confusing. The fist being the camshaft bearing. It just doesn’t fit but with a bit of sand paper it will. The left screw for the fan mount won’t go all the way in wich is fine because the right one can keep it tight for now.

I do also think the engine should come with extra screws for mounting the engine and ground wire.

Update on my 4 star review I finally received the generator base and gas conversion kit. Neither the generator base or the gas conversion kit have ANY instructions I got everything assembled using my past knowledge of electrical engineering and it started right up and ran about 1 minute and lost spark due to a failed Hall effect sensor I installed another new sensor and it started and ran about a minute and a half and again no spark this time the sensor AND the module failed. It failed because the “new version” CDI system DOES NOT have a high side earth/ground wire I contacted customer service and after I convinced the person that they did in fact actually sell the conversion kit for this engine I was told that I could purchase another identical unit. I won’t be purchasing ANOTHER thing from this company I ordered the much better Rcext unit from another supplier

The parts were all perfectly made and everything was metal except for maybe the fan blades and some gaskets.
Meticulous detai allowed for precision fit; included a piston ring compression tool which was appreciated.
I dont plan to run it, as I am using it as a desk decoration. but given the heft of the starter motor, I bet it would start right up.
Very happy with this mode. If a 50% coupon show up, I'll happily get the V8.

I ordered the RED ST-NF2 engine it came in just a couple days however as of this review the gas conversion kit and the generator base haven’t shipped. It went together well with the full color instructions included I was a little disappointed in that I ordered the RED engine and unlike the pictures the ONLY thing that is red is the valve cover. I’m a mechanic so assembly was pretty straightforward HOWEVER when it was fully assembled there was no compression due to the rocker arms having less than 0 lash there is no provision to adjust the valve lash so I ended up milling about 0.010 thousandths off the the lash caps now I have full compression and a little bit of valve clearance. I really wish it had the red sprocket accents like advertised but the black anodized ones match the rest of the engine I guess
